IX SIPSEP
The Graduate Doctoral Program of the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering School (Facultad de Ingeniería Mecánica y Eléctrica) of Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (UANL), Monterrey, México and the Federal Power Commission of México (CFE), invite engineers, professors, researchers, consultants, manufacturers and students interested in power system protection, to participate in the IX Symposium, which will be held in Monterrey, N.L., México, on May 20-23, 2008.
OBJECTIVES

To promote the exchange of experiences among specialists on power system protection.

To encourage the analysis of issues dealing with the protection of longitudinal electric power systems.

To foster the discussion on relaying philosophies as applied by electric utilities from different countries.

To promote the analysis of modern trends in protective relaying, specially of digital protective relays and systems.

Papers, Conferences, Industrial Exposition and Tutorial Courses. The registration process for speaker (all authors, lecturers and panelists) or participant will do electronically in www.uanl-die.net.
PAPER PRESENTATIONS
Papers reporting research results and experiences are solicited. Papers will be selected based on their originality, significance, correctness, relevance and clarity of presentation. A copy of the full paper should be submitted by email in Spanish (preferably), English or Portuguese as WORD document. Papers must conform to the IEEE PES publication guidelines. A Technical Committee will decide about the acceptance for presentation of the paper. The official Symposium language will be Spanish, but presentations in English and Portuguese are welcomed. Simultaneous translation Spanish-English will be available.
